Re: Tournament
We have made it to the final and so have Asterix and Obelix. So out of these 2 who will be the favourite.
Re: Tournament
Darn, I was hoping Panacea would win against Obelix... As if he could resist her feminine charms! Well, since he's still there I'll vote for Obelix - he's bashed up Asterix enough times in the comics, he might as well do the same in the Final. ;DSukisuix hat geschrieben:We have made it to the final and so have Asterix and Obelix. Re: Tournament
Hello,
I just wondered, who won this tournament, because the link to it disappeared from the starting page of the Asterix-site. So I used a link to it, I found in an old missive and noticed, that the tounament is still running. There were more than 10.000 votes right now and Asterix is to win the match. But I wonder whether there's any deadline for this, so they can present the tounament's official winner.
But perhaps they forgot this "game" as they seem to have forgotten the "Code say 33" and our "big surprise"... :(
Regards
Erik

It looks like you can vote again ... or maybe I just forgot to vote before! Go, Obelix!

Re: Tournament
Hello,
But I'm also sure, that Obelix can't catch up Asterix anymore. That's 500 votes between them and the visitors' interest may not be that big anymore.
Regards
Erik
Yes, you can vote again. I don't know why, but I'm sure I voted for Obelix when the final round started (2 month ago) and now I was able to vote again. Strange.MantisQueen hat geschrieben:It looks like you can vote again ... or maybe I just forgot to vote before! Go, Obelix!

Re: Tournament
Perhaps they are waiting for a certain number of votes to be cast? That would explain why we can re-vote.
No, you're probably right - they've forgotten the tournament and say 33 in the excitement of the new book release and the aftermath.

Re: Tournament
Finally the results of the tournament are known.
Also we have winners for the SAY 33 contest.
And:
Also we have winners for the SAY 33 contest.
And:
All this in the latest missive: http://gb.asterix.com/missives/lettre49.htmlMade of sturdy stuff, as solid as a menhir, many already consider the latest Asterix adventure to be one of Albert Uderzo's finest! Incidentally, now here's a scoop for you, I've seen the first prototype of Pixi's Nagma rocket!
What a treat! All sectarianism aside, comic-book fans will be able to put it on the shelf next to Tintin's rocket from Destination Moon. Funny, don't you think?

Hello,
did you already notice? There's a new tournament on the official Asterix-site. Will Asterix win in 2006 again?
This time Toon, the Nagma and one of the Superclones from album 33 take part in the match. Toon is even set as a favorite.

Yes, I have voted. I expect no surprises this year.
But having to decide between Cleopatra and Chipolata is a crime!

What do you mean? In the first round he is now at slight disadvantage against Prolix (27-31). Where are the favourites listed? Or is it the score behind its nationality?Erik hat geschrieben:Toon is even set as a favorite.

Hello Jochgem,
http://gb.asterix.com/bd/tour1//tourgb06.pdf
As far as I understood this, the characters in boldface are the favourites.
Indeed I did never understood, what the "score" behind the nationality symbolizes. But in fact only the favourites and no one else have such a number behind their nationality on the tournament table. So, I think, you are right to say, that the members with such a number are the favourites. The higher the number, the better the (expected) chance to win the tournament (Obelix and Asterix have numbers 1 and 2).
Kind regards
Erik
you can see this on the complete tournament table:Jochgem hat geschrieben:Where are the favourites listed?

Chipolata? She only appears in very few panels and she doesn't speak a word. I don't think she's very important.Jochgem hat geschrieben:But having to decide between Cleopatra and Chipolata is a crime!

Re: Tournament
The present edition of the tournament at the Official Site has reached the semi-finals.
Hurry, and choose between Obelix and Dogmatix, and between Getafix and Asterix.
(I did not vote for the two main heroes...)
http://gb.asterix.com/ goto Tournament of the Indomitables
(Put the yellow tennis ball in one of the halves of the field and press validate points.)
PS. Other than this no news from the official site. Blog has stalled for two months now
