Caesar - a parody of Herge

Beitrag: #Beitrag SingingGandalf »

Hi
Im new here and are far more knowledgable about Tintin than Asterix, so some of the stuff I say may be nonsense but anyway. One thing brought up in Tintin forums is the fact that Tintin's creator, Herge (his proper name was Georges Remi) resembles Caesar in Asterix far too much to be coincidence. Do you think it was a joke of Goskinny and Uderzo to take off their rival in the field of comics?

I never heard that one before. I actually thought that Uderzo had drawn a very good likeness of Caesar, from what I have seen from Roman busts and drawings. He has made him rather handsome  if somewhat old for me.

I suppose Herge does look like Caesar - maybe it was just coincidence.
